Do the Coyote MOAB 3 Tactical Mid boots fit true to size?

Yes, true to size for most wearers. The MOAB 3 has a more generous toe box than older Merrells, so if you've found them narrow in the past, this version fits better. Wide width available for wider feet. Use our size guide if converting from US or UK sizing.

Are the Merrell MOAB 3 Tactical Mid boots waterproof?

Yes. The MOAB 3 Mid Tactical has Merrell's waterproof membrane plus waterproof-coated leather, sealed against water while still allowing internal moisture to escape. Suitable for wet trails, creek crossings, rain, and general wet-weather duty.

Minimal. The MOAB line is known for out-of-the-box comfort. Most wearers settle in within a few days of normal wear.

Can I wear the Coyote MOAB 3 Tactical boots on duty?

Duty use depends on your role's dress code, and coyote is more limited than all-black:

• Police: Most Australian state forces require all-black. Choose the black MOAB 3 Tactical for police work.
• ADF: Not on the ADF approved combat list. Coyote is accepted for training, PT, and field use. Confirm with your chain of command.
• Security and corrections: Usually require all-black. Check with your employer.
• Outdoor, rural, and enthusiast use: Where this boot excels.

How does the MOAB 3 Tactical compare to a regular MOAB 3 hiker?

Same platform, different build. The standard MOAB is pig suede for civilian hiking. The Tactical version uses waterproof-coated leather, tougher heel and toe caps, and odour-control treatment for long shifts. If you're hiking, the standard MOAB is fine. If you're on your feet all day in demanding conditions, pick the Tactical.

Should I get the lace-up or the side-zip version?

This is the lace-up. Merrell also makes a MOAB 3 8" Tactical Zip with a waterproof medial zipper for fast on-and-off. If you're getting in and out multiple times a shift, the zip is worth it. Otherwise the lace-up is lighter and lower-profile.
