Do the Reebok Hyperium 8" Tactical boots fit true to size?

The Hyperium runs true to size for most wearers. If you're between sizes or have a wider foot, we recommend sizing up or selecting the Wide width. The boot is available in Regular and Wide across US sizes 7 to 16. If you're converting from US or UK sizing, use our size guide before ordering.

Are Reebok Hyperium Tactical boots waterproof?

No. The Hyperium is not waterproof. It features a breathable microfiber, synthetic and mesh upper with a moisture-wicking nylon mesh lining, designed to keep feet cool and dry in active conditions, not to handle submersion or heavy rain. For wet-weather duty, look at our waterproof boot range.

What's the Hyperium built for?

The Hyperium is Reebok's trail-running-derived tactical boot, the lightest-feeling option in the tactical lineup. It carries across the athletic responsiveness of a trail runner with the ankle support and duty-ready build of an 8" boot.

The FuelFoam midsole delivers energy return and step-in comfort, the MemoryTech footbed moulds to your foot, and the slip-resistant rubber outsole grips mixed surfaces including light trail, dirt, and pavement. Built for law enforcement, security, and tactical operators who spend long shifts on their feet and want a boot that feels more like an athletic shoe than a work boot.

Do they need breaking in?

Minimal break-in. The microfiber, synthetic and mesh upper is flexible out of the box, with no leather to soften. The MemoryTech footbed settles within a few days of normal wear. Most wearers find the Hyperium comfortable from first use.

Can I wear the Black Hyperium Tactical boots on duty?

Yes. The all-black Hyperium is built to professional-grade specifications with an Electrical Hazard (EH) rating, slip-resistant outsoles, and ASTM F2892 compliance. The black colourway meets most Australian duty dress code requirements:

• Police: Most Australian state police forces (QPS, NSWPF, VicPol, WAPOL, SAPOL, TASPOL, NTPOL, ACT Policing) accept all-black tactical boots that meet EH and slip-resistance standards. Always confirm with your unit before purchase, as individual force requirements vary.
• ADF: The ADF operates from a specific approved boots list set out in the Army Dress Manual. Reebok Hyperium boots are not currently on the ADF approved list for combat wear, but they are suitable for PT, training, and non-combat roles where footwear rules are more flexible. Confirm with your chain of command.
• Security and corrections: The all-black colourway meets most security and corrections uniform standards.
• First responders and everyday duty wear: Well-suited, particularly for long shifts where the lightweight trail-runner feel reduces fatigue.

Is the side zipper durable, or is it a weak point?

The Hyperium uses a side zipper designed for fast on-and-off access during active duty use. With normal care, the zipper is built to last the life of the boot. If you prefer the added assurance of a premium zipper, the Nano X1 and Trailgrip use a YKK® side zipper, which is the industry standard for tactical boot zippers.

Should I get the 6" or the 8" Hyperium?

Both use the same upper, midsole, outsole, and footbed. The only meaningful difference is shaft height, and that's a use-case decision:

• Choose the 6" if you prioritise speed, agility, and easy on-and-off. It feels the most like an athletic shoe of any Reebok tactical boot and works well for high-mobility duty, training, and everyday duty wear.
• Choose the 8" if you want more ankle support, particularly under load or on uneven ground. The extra 2 inches of coverage also helps keep debris out during field use.

What's the difference between the Hyperium, Nano X1, and Trailgrip?

The Hyperium is trail-runner-derived: lightest-feeling, most athletic, built for all-day duty comfort on mixed surfaces. The Nano X1 is training-derived: built on Reebok's Nano platform, with strong lateral stability and gym-to-duty crossover. How does the Hyperium feel compared to the Nano X1 and Trailgrip?

Lightest of the three. The Hyperium's athletic trail-runner construction and synthetic upper make it the most running-shoe-like on your feet, which is why it suits long shifts and high-mobility work. The Nano X1 feels sturdier and more supportive for lateral movement and training. The Trailgrip feels the most boot-like of the three, with the leather and ballistic nylon upper adding weight in exchange for durability and terrain capability.
